Seeking a full-time or part-time Activities Assistant to help plan, develop, organize and direct programming for our wonderful residents. This activity programming will provide a unique opportunity for entertainment, exercise, and relaxation for all of our residents. YOU can make a difference in this position by helping to fulfill the psychological, social and spiritual needs of our residents. Some individuals may need assistance physically or cognitively, and all residents will be invited to participate. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Develop, organize, and implement a program of activities to meet the needs of residents as identified on the residents’ plan of care.
  • Initiate and promote activities within the facility.
  • Coordinate the assistance for residents, as needed, for activities and events.
  • Create an ongoing calendar of activities, which creatively meets resident needs and is accessible and appealing to both men and women of all age groups.
  • Consistently maintain standards for activity scheduling and documentation established by facility policies.
  • Solicit the involvement of the community when planning facility activities and events.
  • Maintain detailed records of activity programs and participation of individual residents, identifying progress toward established care plan goals.
  • Participate in resident care planning by identifying the activity needs of residents in accordance with the medical assessment.
  • Help develop and distribute a monthly calendar of events. Provide a copy of the calendar in each resident’s room, and at least one large calendar displayed in the facility.
